Quality Control

We love fresh seafood and pride ourselves on being able to offer you the very best quality fish and shellfish possible for you to enjoy as much as we do.

As we only sell direct there are very few steps in getting your fish and shellfish to you quickly.

All of our fish and shellfish is caught from our boat “North Star” in Falmouth Bay, Cornwall. 
The boat is a traditional 18′ Plymouth Pilot cove boat and is only operated on a day boat basis meaning that we land our catch on the same day we go fishing.

Typically our lobsters and crab are caught on a Wednesday morning, transported back to our kitchen, despatched and cooked within one hour of being removed from the sea, chilled overnight, packaged and picked up on Thursday for delivery to you on Friday.

We are only a small husband and wife team and therefore we can keep a very close control on every part of the process, we have chosen the best quality packaging and the best delivery partner (DPD) to try to ensure that you receive your package in great condition.

We use FoodDocs Food Safety Management System with HACCP plan and have temperature monitoring in place everywhere required to ensure that your fish and shellfish is processed and handled safely.

Our fish (Bass, Pollack, Whiting, Gilthead Bream, Mackerel, Herring and Ling) is all caught with hook and line, despatched immediately and treated with care at every stage so that the fish is pristine when it arrives. 

We never freeze shellfish as we believe this alters the end product too much and reduces the quality of a product that should be a real celebration of seafood on every occasion.
